The Newtowne Players & The Sotterley Foundation present: Ghost Walk 2006!

Spirits are always among us. They are present in our thoughts and fantasies, present in stories and myths and, most importantly, often visible or sensed in our conscious existence. The period before and after Halloween is when these “Specters of the Night” dominate our psyches and activities. Each year the public is invited to visit Sotterley Plantation to walk the grounds and experience spirits which can often be encountered here.

This year The Newtowne Players, in cooperation with The Sotterley Foundation, and under direction of Bill Farrar, has agreed to organize and produce Ghost Walk 2006. If you have ever wanted to be a spirit or lead a group of apprehensive, frightened people among them, now is the time to step forward.

On Friday evening September 8th at 6:30pm-9pm and Sunday September 10th from 11am–1-pm at Three Notch Theatre home of the Newtowne Players, an explanation of the program and a casting call will be conducted. There are parts for 6-8 Speaking Spirits, 10-15 Wandering Spirits, 3 Stationary Spirits and 10-12 Tour Leaders. Once the casting is complete there will be 4 rehearsals at the theatre and 3 on-site rehearsals at Sotterley Plantation.

This Year’s Ghost Walk will be October 20 & 21 from 7pm-10:30pm at Sotterley Plantation. All proceeds from ticket sales go to The Sotterley Foundation.

Additional volunteers will be needed to help with technical support, and setting up the grounds prior to the event. Please call Three Notch Theatre at 301-737-5447, or check our web site at www.newtowneplayers.org for more information regarding auditions. For more information on the event or to purchase tickets call 301-373-2280. Payment in advance is required to reserve your tour time slot.
