Charles County officials released the latest in a series of warnings about the health of Charles County rivers and creeks Thursday, this time asking citizens to avoid contact with the water along Nanjemoy Creek at Trappe Bridge & Route 6, Willets, Hancock, and Mill Run. The results of recent isolated water sampling by the Nanjemoy Conservancy indicate contamination from elevated levels of bacteria which may cause illness. For more information, contact the Charles County Department of Health Environmental Health Services Division at 301-609-6751, or go to the Health Department’s Alerts page at http://www.charlescountyhealth.org/Alerts/Alerts.htm. |
