Oil Truck Springs a Leak, One Lane Shut Down on 235
HOLLYWOOD - 2/21/2008
One lane of southbound Route 235 was shut down briefly Wednesday morning, when a Besche Oil truck sprung a leak on the side of the road.
At least two drivers called 911 shortly after 8:30 a.m. when they spotted the driver trying to mop up a leak that started under the tank.
Hollywood and Bay District volunteer fire departments responded to assist the driver. Shortly after, a second oil truck was dispatched to the scene out of Waldorf.
The truck was hauling approximately 1,700 gallons of fuel oil and leaked in the vicinity of 25 gallons.
Firefighters cleared the scene at 9:15 a.m.
