Packed House Meets Sheriff at Wildewood
CALIFORNIA - 4/5/2008
|
The Wildewood Community Clubhouse was standing room only on the evening of April 3, when residents gathered for a community meeting with St. Mary’s County Sheriff Timothy Cameron.
Patrol Commander Lt. Terry Black and Bureau of Criminal Investigations detective SDFC Alexander discussed surveillance operations that were conducted, as a result of the numerous thefts from motor vehicles and burglaries that occurred in the area over the past two months. SDFC Alexander was pleased to announce suspect Daniel Sell was recently arrested charged for burglarizing at least 20 vehicles in the Wildewood area. The community meeting provided residents an opportunity to voice their concerns regarding traffic related issues such as speeding, vehicles passing on the shoulder of the road, vehicles not stopping for school buses or pedestrians at cross walks. Cameron assured residents he would notify his Traffic Safety Unit regarding their concerns and direct the unit to conduct safety and enforcement operations within the community. At the close of the meeting, Sheriff Cameron reminded residents to be cognizant of suspicious persons, vehicles, and activities in their community and encouraged them to call if they suspect or witness anything out of the ordinary. Sheriff Cameron also invited residents to join the Citizen’s Advisory Board and participate in upcoming Sheriff’s Office Citizen’s Academy classes. The meeting was coordinated by Citizen Advisory Board Member Ms. Deborah Brooks. Photos by Executive Coordinator Kelly Castle.
