The Board of County Commissioners presented the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office and the St. Mary’s Board of Education with a Proclamation recognizing April 10 as National D.A.R.E. Day in St. Mary’s County.

The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office in cooperation with the St. Mary’ County Board of Education re-implemented the D.A.R.E. program during the 2007-2008 school years.

Present to accept the Proclamation were Sheriff Timothy Cameron, Dr. Michael J. Martirano, Superintendent of the St. Mary’s County Public Schools, DARE Instructors - Deputy First Class Eva Jones, Deputy First Class Angela Muller, Senior Deputy First Class Gray Maloy and Corporal Diane Fenwick.
