Driver on the Track at MIR Arrested for DWI, Pot

At 10:40 p.m., June 6, St. Mary’s Sheriff Deputy Jason Graves responded to Maryland International Raceway (MIR) in Mechanicsville for a report of a motor vehicle accident. Investigation revealed Eric Robin Reed, 25 of Charlotte Hall participated in a race at MIR and upon reaching the finish line, lost control of his vehicle and hit the barrier wall. Deputy Graves spoke with Eric Robin Reed and could detect an odor of an alcoholic beverage upon his breath and person. Eric Reed was given a field sobriety test and as a result of the test was arrested to operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. Search incident to arrest revealed a clear plastic bag containing suspected marijuana on Eric Reed’s person. Eric Robin Reed was charge with DWI and possession of a controlled dangerous substance – marijuana. |
