At 3:15 a.m. June 16, Charles County Sheriff’s Officer J. Timko received information from a citizen at the WaWa located at 11505 Berry Road in Waldorf about a group of young males attempting unsuccessfully to use several different credit cards at the ATM inside the store.

Officer Timko saw the group in their vehicle as they were leaving the parking lot and provided the vehicle lookout information to other officers. Sgt. P. Gregory found the vehicle and stopped in at the intersection of St. Patrick’s Drive and Western Parkway. It was occupied by five Waldorf males. One was 15, two were 16 and two were 17.

During the investigation, officers recovered several credit cards from the vehicle and later determined the cards had been stolen. The officers also recovered other items and linked the property to other thefts that occurred that night. The investigation revealed the accused searched for and found unlocked vehicles in the Eutaw Forest and Eutaw Forest Archers subdivisions in Waldorf and stole items, including the credit cards, left inside.

The teens were all charged with theft valued at less than $500, fourth-degree burglary and rogue and vagabond. Officers also discovered one of the 17-year-old boys was in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and he was subsequently charged accordingly. The teens were released to their parents.

Officer Timko investigated.
