At 7:10 p.m. June 14, Charles County Sheriff’s Officer T. Yates stopped a Ford truck on Carriage Crossing Lane in Waldorf for failing to display front and back tags.

He determined the driver, Russell Julius Spruytte, III, 21, of Bowie, was intoxicated. The officer arrested Spruytte and placed him the backseat of his police cruiser.

Spruytte began banging his head against a window, causing the window to crack and detach from its track.

Spruytte was transported to the Charles County Detention Center without further incident and was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving under the influence of alcohol and destruction of property valued at less than $500.
