Mikulski to Lead Democratic Women Senators in Remarks at National Convention in Denver

Senator Barbara A. Mikulski (D-Md.), Dean of the Senate Women, will lead the Democratic Women of the Senate in a special address Tuesday Aug. 26 at 5 p.m., at the 2008 Democratic Convention where they will discuss their "Checklist for Change," an agenda for changing the direction of America.

Mikulski will open the special segment of Tuesday's convention program with her checklist issue –  equal pay for equal work.  Research shows that wage discrimination in America still exists, with women making
only 77 cents for every dollar her male counterpart makes.

Senator Barbara Boxer of California, Senator Maria Cantwell of Washington, Senator Mary Landrieu of Louisiana, Senator Blanche Lambert Lincoln of Arkansas, Senator Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota,
Senator Claire McCaskill of Missouri, and Senator Debbie Stabenow of Michigan will also speak from the Pepsi Center in Denver, CO.
