Despite Some Rain Delays, Bowles Farm Had a Great Race Weekend
CLEMENTS - 8/3/2009
With rain showers disrupting some of the early racing on Friday, July 31, at Bowles Farm, the grounds crew went to work on the track while a great crowd waited and enjoyed refreshments and in general a good time with family and friends.
The crew did a miraculous job and the track was back in condition. According to Tina Bowles, “I think we had a bigger crowd even that last year even with the rain.”
Tommy Bowles stated that when the track was reopened after the rains it was in better shape than ever. Racing resumed and ended around midnight with a wildly cheering crowd still in attendance.
The racing continued on Saturday to even larger crowds that the night before.
The race results for Saturday's main events area as follows"In the J/P Class, the winner was Christain Jones. In the IMOW Class, local racer, Wally Bender took top honors. In the A/P Class Pat Sullivan ended up in first. In The S/P Class, local Jason Brown took top honors. In the C/P CLass, the winner was Michael Paccione. Jason Brown took the prize once again in the B/P Class and in the F/X Class, James Klauss won.
