Calvert County Sheriff's Office Crime Report

Calvert County, MD - 5/14/2012

During the week of May 7 through May 13 deputies of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded to 1,406 calls for service throughout the community. 

Citizens with information on the following crimes or any criminal activity in Calvert County who wish to report it anonymously can now access the Calvert County Crime Solvers link through the Sheriff’s Office website.  

Go to http://www.co.cal.md.us/residents/safety/law/sheriff/ and click on the Crime Solvers link to leave an anonymous tip on-line.  Information leading to the arrest and conviction of a suspect could result in a $1,000 reward.

Burglary  

A red Sears riding mower, model DYT400, worth $1100 ,was stolen from the garage of a home on Howard Drive in Port Republic between May 7 and 8.  DFC J. Parsons is investigating.

Destruction of Property  

A homeowner on Patuxent Avenue in Broomes Island reported to DFC C. Johnson that sometime between May 7 and 11, someone damaged the rear sliding glass door of his home.  It appears someone attempted to pry the door open to gain entry.  The victim also reports that he found the unlocked door to his shed sitting open.  Nothing appears to have been taken.  DFC Johnson is investigating.

Destruction of Property  

A victim on Barefoot Lane in Owings reported to DFC J. Hardesty that someone damaged her vehicle causing $1300 in damage overnight between May 9 and 10.  The vehicle appears to have been hit with a bat or some other type of instrument on the windshield, hood, taillight, two passenger windows and two tires.  Anyone with information is asked to contact DFC Hardesty at 410-535-2800.

Destruction of Property  

Unknown suspect(s) shattered the front window of a Toyota parked outside a home on Laura Lane in Lusby.  DFC J. Parsons is investigating the damage estimated at $200.  It occurred sometime between May 10 and 11.

Theft  

Copper tubing was cut and removed from the crawl space of a home on Stagecoach Trail in Lusby sometime around May 10 or 11.  Cpl. A. Moschetto is investigating.

Theft from Vehicle  

Someone stole a gray hooded windbreaker worth $70 from inside an unlocked vehicle parked in front of a home on Clearview Drive in Owings overnight between May 11 and 12.  DFC Lord is investigating.

Destruction of Property  

Eight victims reported to Cpl. A. Moschetto that someone had damaged their mailboxes sometime between May 12 at 7:30 p.m. and May 13 at 10:00 a.m.  The incidents occurred in the Prince Frederick areas of Sequoia Way, Whispering Drive and Abigail Court.  Anyone with information is asked to contact Cpl.
