Many people think that members of the board simply go to meetings twice a month and vote on various matters on our agenda. Individuals need to realize that this is a full time job and for me a passion for children. This is not a hobby!
Besides those two crucial meetings, we also receive a multitude of invitations to interact with the public. I am currently doing a project for the Boardmanship Academy where I am listing the various invitations. One with a full time job would find that he or she may have to use up his or her leave. In years previous, there have been complaints by those who did not realize what this job entails.
Lately there has been a complaint about current members not having children in our school system. Four of us has in the past, one currently does, and I have three grandchildren. I am also a member of the Evergreen PTO and am joining the Hollywood PTA in October.
I will be writing up until the election to get your support for our school system. Whatever you do Keep Children First.
