At 2:50 a.m. Oct. 30, a State Trooper observed a vehicle which appeared to be traveling over the 40 mile per hour speed limit.  A pace was conducted and determined the vehicle’s speed to be 90 mph.  The vehicle was stopped and the driver identified as David Joshua Garcia, 20, of Washington DC. 

While speaking with Mr. Garcia, the officer detected a strong odor of  burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle.  Mr. Garcia advised that there was a small amount of marijuana inside the trunk.  A probable cause search was conducted and a glass jar containing marijuana was found in the trunk.

Mr. Garcia was arrested and charged with Possession of marijuana and Possession of CDS paraphernalia.  He was taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center for processing and a bond hearing.
