At 10:57 p.m. April 21, Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to a residence in the 3700 block of Kempsford Field Placein Waldorf for the report of a breaking and entering.

Investigation revealed the victim’s ex-boyfriend, Sam Alexander Swinton, 39, of Washington, D.C., came to the victim’s residence and when he was unable to gain entry to the residence fired two shots before fleeing the scene.

Several minutes later, Officer J. Walter located Swinton and two other individuals. They were found to be in possession of a handgun and crack cocaine.

Swinton was charged with attempted first degree burglary, reckless endangerment, possession of crack cocaine and handgun on a person.

Kelvin Durrell Farley, 46, and Cornelius Brad Farley, 48, of Washington, D.C., were charged with possession of crack cocaine.

They are being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.

The victim, a 37-year-old female, was not injured. Officer W. Saunders investigated.
