Mickey Jannis carried a shutout into the 6th inning as the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs won their season-high fifth straight game with a 3-1 victory over the York Revolution to remain in a tie for first place in the Freedom Division.

Jannis (3-0) remained unbeaten as he went the first 5.1 innings for the victory scattering three hits. Alain Quijano (10-7) was on the losing end despite a quality start of seven innings of three run baseball. Justin Berg earned his third save of the season with a scoreless 9th inning.

Southern Maryland got all of their offense early in the contest. Bobby Stevens got the offense started right away with a leadoff home run in the bottom of the 1st, his 5th of the season. The Blue Crabs added single runs in the 3rd and 4th innings in addition. Jermaine Mitchell scored on a wild pitch in the 3rd inning and James Skelton added a sacrifice fly in the 4th to build a 3-0 lead.
