Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Michael J. Martirano, announces the administrative appointments made by the Board of Education at its meeting of September 10, 2014.
The Board appointed Ms. Carrie Smith as Supervisor of Special Education in the Department of Special Education. Ms. Smith is currently the Instructional Resource Teacher for Special Education Compliance with St. Mary’s County Public Schools. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of West Florida and a Master’s degree from Walden University. Ms. Smith joined St. Mary’s County Public Schools in August 2001.
The Board also appointed Ms. Kimberley McEligot as Pupil Personnel Worker in the Department of Student Services. Ms. McEligot is currently a Kindergarten teacher at Town Creek Elementary School. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina and a Master’s degree from Towson University. Ms. McEligot joined St. Mary’s County Public Schools in August 2000.
These appointments become effective Monday, September 15, 2014.
