Around 8:49 a.m., June 3 units from Seventh District Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire on Jack Gibson Road in Avenue.
Five firefighters were able to control the flames that threatened to consume the boat.
The 18 foot Boston Whaler Outrage sustained $4000 worth of damage. A neighbor reported the fire that has been determined to be caused by an electrical malfunction in the center console.
There were no reported injuries in the fire.
