LEXINGTON PARK, Md. – On Monday, Feb. 25 at 10:50 a.m., crews were alerted to reports of a boat in distress in the Chesapeake Bay in the area of Lexington Park.

According to emergency services communications, the boat had caught fire but was extinguished by the owner. First Responders located and made contact with the vessel and performed an initial medical assessment.

Reports say the victim may have suffered burns to their hand during the incident but is alert and well.
