PRINCE FREDERICK, Md.  – On September 04, 2018 Calvert County students will be starting the 2018-2019 school year. Sheriff Mike Evans will have Calvert County Sheriff’s Office School Liaison Officers at each of their assigned schools to ensure the safety of all of the returning students.

Three new School Liaison Officers were added to this program by Sheriff Evans in addition to the five School Liaison Officers already working within the schools. In addition to the School Liaison Officers at each of their schools, there will be an increased presence of Deputies at all of the schools throughout the week. 

Sheriff Evans would like to reassure all parents and students that school safety is a top priority.  He would also like to remind all drivers to use extra caution while driving in neighborhoods, in the area of all schools, and on all of Calvert’s roadways.

The Calvert County Safety for Students Speed Enforcement Program will begin with the first day of school as well. Speed enforcement cameras will be operational in the following school areas:

Windy Hill Elementary- Boyds Turn Rd., Owings, MD.

Northern High School- Chaneyville Rd., Owings, MD.

Calvert County School- Dares Beach Rd., Prince Frederick, MD.

Cardinal Hickey Academy- W Mount Harmony Rd., Owings, MD.
