At 6:28 p.m. March 22, rescue volunteers were dispatched to the area of Pegg Road and Three Notch Road, Lexington Park for a vehicle crash with injuries, reports Lexington Park Volunteer Rescue Squad Lieutenant Brian Brown.

The Lexington Park VRS was assisted by Hollywood VRS and Bay District Volunteer Fire Department in extracting the male driver from an overturned vehicle.

A helicopter medavac was dispatched immediately due to the severity of the man’s injuries

A second vehicle was involved, though it received less damage. Responders checked out the driver in the second vehicle, and he signed a medical release refusing medical treatment.

All EMS units cleared the scene at about 7:15 p.m.
