WALDORF, Md. – Congratulations to our K9 team and instructors for recently graduating from the Iron Dog Advanced Patrol training event hosted at the Special Forces Training Center at Fort AP Hill!
Our handlers and their partners learned tactical entries into buildings, subway stations, trains, tunnels, and various structures; team movements with canines; raising and lowering canines into tunnels for investigation, and scenarios with role players and real-world conditions among other courses. Our K-9 handlers were impressed with the high level of training they received which will help them better serve our communities.
Cooper, Colt, Baba, Loki, Ozzy, and Maz did extremely well during this rigorous course but really enjoyed the reward part of training and the playtime afterward.
It takes a lot of dedication from our handlers and their canine partners to work effectively and they must train continuously. We thank Officers Cuyler, Behm, Blake, Botorff, Fromme, Willis and trainer William Cotton for their continued commitment to canine safety.
