Leonardtown, MD – Cougars Elite Competitive Cheerleading (CEC) is set to begin year seven as a competitive cheerleading program in St. Mary’s County. The program boasts numerous accomplishments and national titles.
This past season Cougars’ teams have seen great success and growth in their program earning multiple national titles and 1st Place finishes at:

Maryland Cup Nationals
Maryland Madness
Battle at the Capital
Maryland State Cheerstarz
Five teams, PROWL, FIERCE, CLAWS, PRIDE and SPARKLE KATZ, make up the program. CEC’s primary focus is not only to prepare and compete in state and national competitions, but to teach athletes self-confidence, athleticism and sportsmanship. During the year, squads concentrate on all components of cheerleading, including tumbling, dance, stunting, jumps and showmanship. Coaches have extensive backgrounds in cheerleading/tumbling and are certified through the NYSCA (National Youth Sports Coaches Association), as well as CPR and AACCA Safety Certified.
• Ages: 6-18, must be no younger than 6 or no older than 18 by August 31, 2016
• Tryouts: May 17 – 19, 6 – 8 p.m. at Carver Recreation Center
o May 17, 6 – 8 p.m. Evaluation Night
o May 18, 6 – 8 p.m. Level 1 Call Backs
o May 19, 6 – 8 p.m. Level 2/3 Call Backs
• Practices: Practice for the 2016-2017 Season begin June 7
• Cost: $200 R & P Registration Fee + additional team costs (uniform, competition fees, lodging, personal items and other costs associated with the program
