Cop Hit With Pot Stench in Waiting Room, Arrest Follows Outside

At 1:17 p.m. May 28, Calvert Sheriff’s DFC Todd Smith arrested Anthony R. Acevedo, 22 of Port Republic, for possession of marijuana.

The Deputy detected a strong odor of marijuana emitting from Acevedo as he walked past DFC Smith in a doctor’s office waiting area.

DFC Smith approached Acevedo, who had gotten into his vehicle, and discovered the suspected marijuana.
