At 1:16 a.m. Feb. 12, Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to a residence at Thunderbird Motel, located at 11050 Crain Highway in Glasva, for the report of a domestic assault with a weapon.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a broken window and saw a woman inside the apartment lying on the floor. She did not respond when officers called out to her.

Officers attempted to enter the residence but the door was locked so Officer A. Schwab kicked it in.

In addition to the injured woman, officers also found a man had been injured. He was in the bedroom suffering from cuts to his head and face.

The man and the woman assaulted each other during a fight, police say. Both of them refused treatment from emergency medical services personnel.

They will both be charged with assault.
