Bring on the dancing girls! The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs finally win a game!

LANCASTER PA – Southern Maryland snapped a four game losing streak with their 8-3 victory over the Barnstormers in game one of the three game series.

The Blue Crabs got the scoring in the top of the third with four runs scored.  With a runner on, Angel Sanchez slashed an RBI single to left to score Antoan Richardson.  Two batters later, Bryant Nelson stepped to the plate and ripped a two run homerun over the wall to make it 3-0 Blue Crabs.  The very next hitter, Jamar Walton smashed a homerun over the wall to make it 4-0 Southern Maryland.

Southern Maryland added a run in the top of the fourth on a D’Arby Myers triple, and two runs in the top of the fifth on Gustavo Molina’s double, and an Antoan Richardson bases loaded walk.

For his second consecutive outing, RHP Gaby Hernandez picked up the win, going five innings, allowing two earned runs and surrendering four hits.  Despite the bullpen struggling in the last four games and registering an ERA of over 13.00, the bullpen combination of Snodgress, Maine, Stem, and Eppley pitched a combined four innings, allowing just one earned run.

The series continues tomorrow with the Blue Crabs looking to climb in the standings.  The first pitch between the Barnstormers and Blue Crabs is set for 7:00 P.M. from Clipper Magazine Stadium.
