UPDATE

Lexington Park, MD – On Friday, March 29 Shortly after 5 a.m. crews were dispatched to a house fire on Melissa Moore Lane for the report of a house fire. A single-story, wood-framed home sustained $250,000. There were no injuries. The house’s lone occupant was not home at the time. A passing motorist saw the fire and reported it to authorities. According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office, the blaze originated in a utility room. The cause of the fire has not been determined and the incident remains under investigation. 

Thirty-eight firefighters were sent to the blaze and brought the flames under control in 25 minutes. The occupant was displaced and is being assisted by family members.
