The Charles County Department of Public Works’ Environmental Resources Division encourages citizens to visit www.CharlesCountyCNS.com to sign up for the county’s Citizen Notification Service (CNS) and select the new “Curbside Recycling” category to receive email alerts about this service.

Registered CNS participants will receive timely information notices such as recycling announcements or changes in recycling pickup schedules.

Curbside recycling collection is provided to approximately 38,372 homes located in the more densely populated areas of the county with expansions occurring as often as possible. In those areas that receive curbside recycling service, single stream recycling materials are collected year-round on an every-other-week basis, and yard waste materials are collected weekly by a separate truck, April through December.

CNS is a free, subscription e-mail service that allows citizens to receive information notices regarding severe weather advisories and county government programs, on their computers, cell phones, or any device capable of receiving e-mail messaging.

For more information on recycling, visit www.CharlesCountyMD.gov or call the Charles County Department of Public Works’ Environmental Resources Division at 301-932-3599 or 301-870-2778.
