On Aug. 5 at 8 p.m., a Charles County Sheriff’s officer – who was on an assignment on Strawberry Drive in Bryans Road – observed a man shouting profanities and acting disorderly.
The officer offered to help the man, but he continued acting disorderly. After refusing several requests to stop, the officer attempted to place the suspect under arrest. At that point, the suspect, Robert William Warren, 40 of Bryans Road, struck the officer and resisted arrest.
Warren was subdued after another officer and a citizen helped secure him. He was charged with second degree assault, resisting arrest and failure to obey a lawful order. Officer D. Willis investigated.
