Two females were arrested and both charged with assault and disorderly conduct in Broomes Island. One of them was also charged with destruction of property after she threw her purse on a police vehicle.

The altercation began between the two women at Stoney’s Restaurant in Broomes Island on July 19 at about 9:00 p.m.  The women, who are sisters, Lisa Marie Muncey, 27 of North Beach, and Sherry Ann Taylor, 26 of St. Leonard, apparently were fighting outside of the restaurant. Police were called to the scene.

Dep. Jason Dean responded to investigate, at which time Muncey became irate, throwing her purse on the patrol vehicle and yelling obscenities.  Witnesses advised that the two women had been involved in a verbal altercation that turned physical.

Muncey became increasingly disorderly and was arrested and charged with assault, disorderly conduct and destruction of property. Taylor was also arrested and charged with assault and disorderly conduct after she ignored police instructions.  Damage to the Sheriff’s Office cruiser is estimated at $100.
