LA PLATA, Md. — A man with no fixed address is facing charges in two unrelated incidents in La Plata, where officers say they recovered suspected drug paraphernalia and he refused lawful orders, according to court documents.
The most recent case occurred Nov. 15, 2025 at the Dash In on Charles Street. Sgt. John Piersa stated that he saw Domonic Jerai King, 45, enter the store despite being previously barred from the property. When Piersa issued a trespassing citation, King allegedly argued, refused to sign it and threw it to the ground. After he declined to pick it up when warned he could face a littering charge, he was taken into custody.
During the arrest, King told the officer he had a crack pipe in his pocket, according to charging documents. Piersa reported recovering a glass tube with copper mesh and burn marks consistent with crack cocaine use.
King is charged in the Nov. 15 case with possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to obey a reasonable and lawful order, littering under 100 pounds and trespassing. He was released on his own recognizance.
The earlier incident happened Oct. 18 at the Panda Express on Crain Highway. An employee reported that a man repeatedly entered the restaurant and approached customers for money despite prior warnings, Cpl. Brendan Smith wrote. Smith said he later found King near La Tolteca, where the employee identified him as the same person.
Smith reported finding a plastic bag of copper mesh and a metal ratchet socket packed with copper—items he said are commonly adapted for smoking crack cocaine. The materials were seized for testing.
In that case, King is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to obey a reasonable and lawful order. He was again released on his own recognizance.
King is scheduled for trial in Charles District Court in La Plata on Dec. 16, 2025, and Feb. 3, 2026. All charges are allegations, and he has not been convicted in either case.

Is anyone surprised?
Maybe he’s ready to talk about what’s going to help him help himself now. Or is he just waiting to die like so many others out here that forgot their God given purpose. I know selfish behaviors come from somewhere and we have family walking around like zombies being herded into someone else’s agenda. Instead of shaming each other we can start being part of a much broader solution.
