Prince Fredrick, MD —The Prince Fredrick Volunteer Fire Department responded to a vacant house fire, Monday, at 450 N. Solomons Island Rd. at approximately 3:53 p.m., according to a press release from the Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal.
“A passer-by was driving through the area and observed light smoke coming from the vacant house and called 9-1-1,” the press release reads in part. ” The Fire Department arrived to find an old mattress smoldering inside the structure. The investigation is continuing.”
The damage was reported to be valued at $100.
