On Friday, October 1, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., historic Leonardtown’s art galleries, restaurants, cafes, gift shops, antique shops, and bookstores will open their doors to showcase local artists and/or serve specials at their establishments. Come out and enjoy a free evening of art, entertainment, and specials! Don’t forget to visit the participating shops in Breton Bay Marketplace, the Maryland Antiques Center, the Port of Leonardtown Winery, and Leonardtown Centre.

The 2010 Oyster Scald will be held at the Leonardtown Wharf during the October 1 First Friday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Enjoy live entertainment, oysters, light appetizers, and beverages along beautiful Breton Bay. Tickets are $25 each if purchased in advance or $30 each if purchased at the event. Proceeds will support the National Oyster Cook-off, which is part of the St. Mary’s Oyster Festival.
