One person was flown from the scene of a crash Wednesday afternoon on Great Mills Road at Prather Drive in Lexington Park.

A call went out shortly after 3:15 p.m. reporting a crash involving two cars and a dump truck.

When Bay District Volunteer Firefighters and Lexington Park Volunteer Rescue Squad members arrived they discovered the dump truck was not involved.

Upon arriving, Rescue Squad members patched up four injured occupants for an ambulance ride to St. Mary’s Hospital, while firefighters used rescue equipment to free a driver trapped in a Nissan.

Once freed from the vehicle, the driver was taken to nearby St. Mary’s Square shopping center to a waiting Maryland State Police helicopter, and to Prince Georges County Hospital.

The Bay Net will bring more information when it comes in.
