Lexington Park, MD – According to sources close to the story, the Bay District Volunteer Fire Department, Patuxent Naval Air HAZMAT team as well as the St. Mary’s County HAZMAT team responded to a residence on Hancock Road in Lexington Park at 6:53 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24 for a leaking fuel tank.
Units arrived to find a fuel oil tank that was full had leaked into the basement of the house. The Red Cross was requested. Additionally, Metcom and the Maryland Department of the Environment were reportedly en route to the scene.
