The Civista Health Foundation is launching a new fundraising program that will attract Blue Crabs baseball fans in the community as its inaugural members.
A newly formed Home Runs for Healthcare Sports Club will support the Foundation through members who commit to pledge $10 for every Blue Crabs home run during the season.
Club members will gather at several times during the regular season to enjoy a private pre-game reception and a game at the stadium with perfect seats from either inside or outside the stadium’s Legends Club. Some of the highlights of the club activities include special opportunities to meet and greet Blue Crabs players and/or personnel, visits from Pinch the mascot, and other “surprise” festivities that will be offered at member receptions.
The sports club is open to the public and all members will receive an official membership card. A commemorative specialty apparel item will further distinguish their membership and will serve as a reminder of how their funds are “scoring big” for healthcare in this community.
While Blue Crabs fans have high hopes for their team this inaugural season, the Home Runs for Health Care sports club is capped at 120 home runs per season. This provides members with an understanding of their charitable investment in this program and how the program is structured.
Foundation Board Chairman Charles McPherson is among the committee members planning the program. “It’s a great way to network and socialize with others who share an interest in baseball and charitable giving. We are excited to create this unique opportunity and know that it will grow through the years.”
Sponsorship opportunities are offered for businesses interested in utilizing one of the four exclusive member receptions as a marketing opportunity. Board member Eric Grainger sees this opportunity as “an incentive for companies with a sales force, or who need to entertain clients or simply maximize exposure for your company in this leisurely setting.”
