(March 16, 1952 – July 8, 2015)

Irwin Keyes was an American actor who had appeared in several films and television shows. He was perhaps best known to television viewers for his recurring role as Hugo, the burly, but dim-witted bodyguard of George Jefferson on the CBS sitcom The Jeffersons. He was considered for the role of Freddy Krueger in A Nightmare on Elm Street.[citation needed]

On July 8, 2015, a member of Keyes’ family announced his death at the age of 63. According to his manager, the cause was complications from acromegaly.
