LEONARDTOWN, Md. — The Leonardtown Volunteer Fire Department is on pace to run over 800 calls this year, overtaking last year’s numbers. Last year, their department responded to a total of 758 calls.
As of November 22, LVFD has responded to 745 calls. Below is the total breakdown of how many monthly calls the department has run:

- February: 91 Calls
- March: 62 Calls
- April: 63 Calls
- May: 77 Calls
- June: 56 Calls
- July: 66 Calls
- August: 77 Calls

Average Per Day: 2.2 calls

According to the Leonardtown Volunteer Fire Department, they are on pace to run over 800 calls for the year of 2021. They are a 100% volunteer department that relies on home response from the community members. They strictly only staff fire apparatus.
