LEONARDTOWN, Md. — The Leonardtown Volunteer Fire Department is on pace to run over 800 calls this year, overtaking last year’s numbers. Last year, their department responded to a total of 758 calls. 

As of November 22, LVFD has responded to 745 calls. Below is the total breakdown of how many monthly calls the department has run:

  • January: 73 Calls
  • February: 91 Calls
  • March: 62 Calls
  • April: 63 Calls
  • May: 77 Calls
  • June: 56 Calls
  • July: 66 Calls
  • August: 77 Calls
  • September 64 Calls
  • October 68 Calls
  • November 48 Calls (as of Nov 22nd)

 

Total Calls for 2021 as of 11/22/2021: 745 Calls

Average Per Day: 2.2 calls

  • Past year 2020: 758 Calls
  • Past year 2019: 669 Calls
  • Past year 2018: 733 Calls

According to the Leonardtown Volunteer Fire Department, they are on pace to run over 800 calls for the year of 2021. They are a 100% volunteer department that relies on home response from the community members.  They strictly only staff fire apparatus.
