St. Mary’s County Deputy Lance respnded to a residence on Summer Lane in Lexington Park on March 15, at 9:08 a.m. for a reported assault.
The victim reported suspect Kevin Andre Brooks, 38, of St. Leonard, assaulted the victim during a disagreement.
The victim alleged Brooks grabbed the victim by the throat and attempted to strangle the victim. While conducting the investigation, Deputy Lance attempted to place
Brooks into custody. Brooks became violent and resisted Deputy Lance and Corporal White’s efforts to place him in handcuffs. Brooks was able to get free and flee on foot only to be apprehended a short distance away. Deputy Lance observed fresh evidence of injury on the victim.
Brooks was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. He was charged with 2nd Degree Assault and Resisting Arrest.
