North East, MD —  Two Maryland State Police K-9’s assisted troopers with the arrests of two suspects after the recovery of a stolen ATV in Cecil County Monday.

K9 Wade and K9 Max, along with their handlers, helped bring in Acie Tillman Boyce, Jr., 22 and Brittany Jade Russell, 23, both of North East, Maryland.

Shortly after 1 p.m. on Monday, the owner of a 2015 camouflage Polaris Ranger ATV reported it stolen along with a silver trailer.

Around 10:20 p.m. Monday evening, witnesses called 9-1-1 to report seeing the ATV traveling on Route 7, West Old Philadelphia Road between Wells Camp Road and MD 267 in North East. 

When troopers arrived, witnesses reported seeing the vehicle leave the area. Troopers investigated and found an area on Louisa Lane where they observed a grass trail from the roadway into a wooded area. The found the ATV south of the roadway with spray paint all throughout the vehicle. 

Once the area was secure, they called for K9 assistance.

The K9 officers and their handlers found the two suspects lying down, hiding in a wooded area approximate 100 yards south from where the ATV was found. They were arrested without incident.

Boyce was charged with motor vehicle theft, disorderly conduct along with several
other charges related to the incident. Russell was charged with disorderly conduct.
