LaPlata – On Oct. 8, at approximately 8 p.m., Troopers from the Maryland State Police La Plata Barrack responded to a collision on Maryland Route 234 in the area of Allen’s Fresh, Faulkner, Maryland.  As a result of the collision, a male operator was pronounced deceased on the scene.    

A preliminary investigation conducted by troopers from the La Plata Barrack, with the assistance of the Maryland State Police CRASH Team, indicates a Chevrolet Camaro operated by Kelly Yvonn Young, 58, of Hollywood, MD was traveling on westbound Maryland Route 234 in the area of Allen’s Fresh.  Ms. Young failed to drive in a single lane and failed to drive right of center and entered the eastbound lane of MD Route 234.  The Chevrolet Camaro collided head-on with a Harley Davidson Motorcycle operated by Robert Stewart Maguire, 47, of Broomes Island, MD.  As a result of the collision, Mr. Maguire was ejected from the motorcycle and was pronounced deceased on the scene.  After the collision, the Chevrolet Camaro came to a final rest in the roadway with no lights activated.  A Ford F-250 operated by Francis Desales Clark, 52, of Avenue, MD was traveling eastbound on MD Route 234.  Mr. Clark did not observe the Chevrolet Camaro in the roadway and the Ford collided with the Chevrolet Camaro.  Mr. Clark was transported to University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.  Ms. Young was flown to Prince George’s Hospital by MSP Helicopter Trooper 7 with non-life threatening injuries.  Mr. Maguire was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy.

Update: 8:40 p.m. A reporter from TheBayNet has arrived on the scene and reports that a motorcycle is involved along with two cars.
