The Department of Recreation, Parks, and Tourism will host an open house at the recently opened Port Tobacco River Park/Tom Roland Natural Resource Area (7685 Chapel Point Road, Port Tobacco), on Saturday, Oct. 28 from 9 a.m. until noon. Explore Charles County’s newest park and visit displays provided by our co-sponsors including the Port Tobacco River Conservancy, Southern Maryland Audubon Society, the Charles County Extension Service-Master Gardeners, and Charles County Tourism.

Join us for a guided bird and native plant hike, or come along for our children’s nature craft walk. Both activities begin at 9:30. Autumn crafts, refreshments, and giveaways will be provided by the Parks and Grounds Division.
