At 3:09 a.m. Oct. 31, TFC J. Linger was patrolling Route 235 north of Route 245 when an Oldsmobile with New York registration caught his attention.  A check through MVA showed the tags displayed had expired. 

The vehicle was stopped and the driver was identified as Lenardus Gemyel Johnson, 22, of Baltimore. During conversation with Mr. Johnson, the officer immediately detected an odor of marijuana was coming from the vehicle. 

A probable cause search was conducted and a marijuana cigar was located in the ashtray and a bag containing marijuana in the center console.  Mr. Johnson was arrested and charged with Possession of marijuana and Possession of CDS paraphernalia.  He was taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center for processing and a bond hearing.
