(Waldorf MD)—The Blue Crabs and the Patriots had to work around a wet and rainy four game set, with Somerset winning game four 2-0 in a rain shortened six inning game.

The big storyline coming into the game was the pitching matchup that pitted RHP Mickey Storey (1-0, 1.17 ERA) against RHP Brian Baker (1-0, 3.57 ERA).  Mickey Storey pitched a fabulous six innings, striking out four, and allowing just one hit.

Somerset scored the first run of the ballgame on a Chris Marrero solo homerun over the wall in left field.  In the top of the sixth, Somerset would add another run.  Thomas Neal laced a single to left field, and then steal second base.  The next hitter Chris Marrero bounced one off the glove of the pitcher Shaun Garceau as it deflected out towards second base.  Casey Stevenson flipped it with the barehand low and it skipped by the glove of Ward allowing Neal to score to make it 2-0.

Blue Crabs manager Stan Cliburn came out to make a pitching change, but the skies opened up and the rain came falling from the sky.  The game was called and made final after six innings.

The Blue Crabs fall to 14-10 on the season.  They will hit the road for a quick three game set at Camden on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and return home for a four game set this weekend against the Barnstormers.  Tomorrow’s night’s pitching matchup pits RHP Jake Hale (1-1, 2.70) against LHP Fu-Te Ni (1-0, 2.86) throwing for the Riversharks.  The first pitch is set for 7:05 P.M.
