WALDORF, Md. – On April 3 at 7:10 p.m., officers responded to the 12500 block of Mattawoman Drive in Waldorf for the report of an assault.

Upon arrival, officers observed a male victim who had several lacerations. A preliminary investigation revealed the suspect, Coby Elliott Stewart, Jr., 31, of no fixed address, was arguing with the victim, who is known to him, when Stewart retrieved a machete he was carrying and swung it at the victim causing lacerations to the victim’s face and hand.

The victim was transported to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Officers located the suspect nearby. He was wearing a sheath, which contained the machete. Officers were able to arrest him without incident. Stewart was charged with first-degree assault and second-degree assault.

  1. Whats the name of the judge that ordered this violent criminal to be held without bond rather than releasing him like the rest? He should get an honorable mention and praise for such a random act of kindness to the community!

    1. Yes, Please mention their name. If they’re one that’s elected, I will vote for them plus tell my friends to do like wise on election day.😁
P.S. Thank you your honor for doing the correct thing. It’s bad enough that the people of Waldorf and parts of the Western side of the county are experiencing the criminals from Prince George’s County and perhaps some from Southeast DC coming down to Charles County. When O moved to Waldorf from Southwest DC, I was able to raise my elementary school aged boys in a great area and great schools where the graduated from and have both joined the Military and live in other states. We left Waldorf in 2005 when the interst only “Junk” mortgage loans began. I saw what was going to happen and moved further South.
