Racial Slur Scribbled in La Plata

At 8:23 a.m., on November 1st a racial epithet was discovered written on a retaining wall near the entrance to the Hunters Brooke subdivision. Officer C. Caldwell was on routine patrol in the 5400 block of Hawthorne Roadin La Plata when he observed the epithet “Hunters Spook”.

Disorderly in La Plata

At 1 a.m. on November 1st, police responded to a residence in the 600 block of Piscataway Court in La Plata for a disorderly person report. Upon arrival, Officer McGuigan attempted to speak with Charles Antonio Proctor, 26, of La Plata, who became disorderly and refused to comply with the officer’s orders to lower his voice. Proctor was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and is being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.


Great Mills Man Arrested for Violating Probation

On November 1st, James Ralph Taylor, 31, of Great Mills was served with a Circuit Court Warrant for Violation of Probation. Taylor was arrested and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where he was charged with Violation of Probation. He is currently awaiting a court date in Circuit Court.
