On October 23, 2011, at approximately 7:00 a.m., Corporal Porter responded to a residence on Army-Navy Drive in Mechanicsville, Maryland, for a report of an assault. Investigation revealed Clifford Worth Payne, 32 of Mechanicsville, Maryland was involved in a verbal dispute with the victim. The dispute escalated and Payne punched the victim in her face, head and body. Payne was arrested and charged with second degree assault.
