The St. Mary’s College volleyball team had one player named to the All-Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) teams as announced by the conference office. Rebecca Tursell was selected to the second team and was also recognized as the Rookie-of-the-Year.

Tursell, a freshman from Germantown, Maryland, started all 39 matches for the Seahawks this past season and played in 144 games. She led the team in kills (594), block solos (89), block assists (88), total blocks (177), kills per game (4.12), and hitting percentage (.364). She set a new single-season record for kills and finished just five blocks shy of setting the single-season record in that category as well.

In the conference, Tursell finished first in total kills and second in kills per game, blocks, and hitting percentage.

The Seahawks finished their season with an overall record of 20-19, giving them their first 20-win season since 1999. The team lost to second-seeded
Marymount University, 3-1, in the opening round of the CAC tournament.
