On Saturday, July 19, at 10:33 a.m., Dep. John Harms of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of H.G. Trueman Road in Lusby for a check person’s welfare call after a citizen observed a female being harassed by a male subject. 

Dep. Harms made contact with an adult female and an adult male walking on the side of the roadway.  Dep. Harms observed the female to have minor injuries.  The male became disorderly and grabbed the female. 

Dep. Harms intervened, at which time he attempted to arrest the male subject.  A minor altercation ensued and the male subject fled on foot into a nearby wooded area. 

Several additional units from the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office as well as Maryland State Police helicopter Trooper 7 arrived and conducted an extensive search of the area for the subject with negative results.
