PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. – Hundreds joined the procession route to say their final farewell to Senate Emeritus Thomas V. “Mike” Miller Jr., the longest-serving Maryland state Senate president in U.S. history.

Senator Miller’s body was escorted by Maryland State Troopers making stops along the way in his home district of Prince Georges and Calvert County. Calvert County Sheriff Mike Evans, Assistant Sheriff Lt. Col. Dave McDowell along with patrol deputies paid their respects with a final salute at the Dunkirk Vol. Firehouse where Miller was a huge supporter.

Miller’s casket will lie in state in the rotunda of the State House until 7 p.m. Friday followed by a private Mass and internment Saturday.
