SOUTHERN MARYLAND — There are dozens of reported trees down through out the Southern Maryland region. As the winds increase into the evening, it is recommended to move vehicles and yard items to a safe place to decrease damage.

Below is a power outage map that is powered by the Southern Maryland Electrical Cooperative(SMECO).

So far this evening, we have received reports that Old Bayside Road and H Street in Chesapeake Beach will be shut down due to a downed tree.

One reader informed us that there was a tree down in the area of Dares Beach Road, off Cassell Blvd at approximately 9 p.m.

Another reader informed us that another tree is down off of Ward Road in Dunkirk, just prior to Aberdeen Drive. They have indicated that the road is completely blocked off.

UPDATE – Pomfret Road from Ray Drive to the Hiker Biker Trail has since reopened. Pomfret Road from Ray Drive to the Hiker Biker Trail is closed due to reports of multiple trees down.

Additionally, off of Route 235 in the southbound lane near Laurel Grove Road, another tree is reported to be down.
